Danielle Iuliano has published a new column on the future of copyright. In this column, Iuliano suggests Fair Use and Technology Guidelines, An Organized Payment System and an Arbitrational Tribunal for Copyright.
I both like and hate the idea of the arbitrational tribunal, but it is
definately worth thinking about. In Sweden, we try to keep copyright cases to certain courts to handle the cases efficient and with great competence. Danielle Iuliano put it the best: "After four
years, we need to start somewhere." Maybe we should make that twohundred years instead of four,
but I think it is important to take baby-steps and the debate the
issues rather than trying to find the Holy Grail of Copyright...
Danielle Iuliano states in her column on the subject of a copyright arbitrational tribunal:
'In the spirit of trying to keep everyone of court and generally healthier, the last piece would be to set up an arbitration process and panel. An arbitration process could be used for new technologies under dispute and specific licensing or fair use issues.'
As reported by Greplaw, Danielle Iuliano has published several columns on the current state of copyright. This is reportedly the final one, but the Greplaw staff is looking forward to more of them!
Read more in Danielle Iuliano's column.
