As reported by Gnuheter (in Swedish), a Swedish university introduces blocking of peer-to-peer traffic.
Lund University was founded in 1666 and more than 34,000 students are enrolled. The standard ports used by Kazaa, Direct Connect and Gnutella and other peer-to-peer software will be blocked in the networks used at campus and in university housing. It appears the excessive use of the peer-to-peer networks seriously affects other uses of the networks (such as use for studying). Circumvention of the block may be punished with exclusion from the network.
