After acquiring PayPal, eBay intends to stop providing the payment service for online gambling transactions. While many Internet gaming companies have recently advertised PayPal as an alternative to credit card transactions, eBay considers such business activity too risky; the U.S. House of Representatives is currently reviewing two bills that aim to prohibit online betting, while making it illegal for companies to process gaming transactions. Apparently, companies-- along with individual gamblers-- take risks when entering an online casino. Wired has a full article on eBay's recent decision.
