Judge: Verizon Must Identify Kazaa User

Digital Entertainment Verizon has lost its battle to protect its customers from having their personal information divulged to the RIAA and other intellectual property owners under the DMCA. Last summer, the RIAA had demanded that Verizon hand over information on one of its users alleged to have shared files over the Kazaa network. Verizon had made a laudable effort to resist the RIAA's strong-handed attempts to identify the Verizon customer until today's ruling. Reuter's has a report. News.com also has a write-up.
