Censorship In his blog, Eric Umansky reports that the Pentagon acknowledges censoring casualty sites. Visiting icasualties.org or CNN's casualty page allegedly returns:

I got here by mistake, so forgive me if I do not understand the purpose of your posting (and/or this web site). However, why wouldn't you at least try the links before posting this when it is simply not true. Go to the links. They work. Does Mr. Umansky have filtering software on his system? However, ultimately what does it matter if he does? The web is crowded enough with inaccuracies, why propagate them?

Eric Umansky is relaying information about filtering software installations on american military networks. The story is all about these installations, not about some Pentagon attempt to censor icasualties.org for all of the internet.

As for the "inaccuracies" remark, do you know for a fact that icasualties.org contain inaccuracies? It looks to me as they are getting their information straight from Pentagon press releases (which of course can be a source of inaccuracies in it's own right, but that's another story).
