RIAA in Procedural Victory

Copyright Cnet News.com reports of a procedural ruling in favour of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). SBC sued RIAA in California this summer. SBC claimed that RIAA's subpoenas for information on subscribers to Internet service providers were unconstitutional. RIAA has argued for a transfer of the lawsuit to the court of District Columbia, since a similar case involving information subpoenad from Verizon was tried there (and subsequently decided to RIAA's benefit). The California court ruled in RIAA's favour.
