One of the Berkman Center's most shining stars, Ben Edelman, has released a new study where he investigates the domain name market. The new twist to studying market share in the Edelman model is to document the registrars used by each of the Fortune 1000 companies, by each of the Forbes International 500 companies, and by listings in Yahoo!. It seems like old-school registrars have a great market share among these major players.
One example provided by Edelman is Network Solutions. Its market share has reportedly fallen across all COM, NET, and ORG registrations to 26%. However, its market share among the primary domains of Fortune 1000 companies remains 74%, more than twice as large.

Check the study with results.
