UK Looking Into National ID Cards

privacy The United Kingdom is considering national ID cards. The cards might contain biometric technology. Such initiative may be incompatible with the UK Data Protection Act, but changes may be made to give the government greater flexibility on how it can process personal data. The EU may be the protector of privacy, while the UK still would have to be in compliance with the EU Data Directive.
