Economist Take on SCO ./. IBM
posted by mpawlo on Thursday August 28, @04:00PM
from the simply-great dept.
Open Source Economist has published a comprehensive article on the fight between IBM and SCO over Linux and Unix. The article has a nice touch on the subject-matter, but also provides some interesting historical parallels:

'Indeed “the SCO case” of 2003 sounds increasingly like the famous Scopes Monkey Trial of 1925, which pitted religious fundamentalists against progressives wanting to teach Darwin alongside the Bible in American classrooms. The SCO case plays the same role in a culture war now consuming the software industry.'

This is the one article you need to submit to your favorite CEO this year.
