miladus writes "The Presses Universitaires de
France is trying to stop Jean-Michel Tremblay, who runs the Classiques
des Sciences Sociales site, from making available online works in
the public domain (ie 50 yars after death of author) in Canada. In
France, of course, copyright extends to 70 years. PUF is now appealing
to the French Syndicat National de l'Edition. Something to keep an eye
on, especially because it points to some of the unrsolved
jurisdictional issues of internet governance and copyright extension. "
