A group of technology companies including Microsoft, HP, and Cisco, has formed the Alliance for Digital Progress (ADP) to fight against laws that would force technology companies to employ anti-piracy measures in their technology. The ADP brings strange bedfellows like the Business Software Alliance and Digital Consumer together in a unified fight against Hollywood's favorite hand-puppet, Fritz Hollings. The Register has a good story, as does the BBC. The group is led by Fred McClure, a former official in the Regan and (George H.) Bush administrations.
