The Economist deals with the problem of peer-to-peer-downloading and the possible erosion of the music industry. As observed by The Economist, several music companies tries to address the problem by launching legal downloading services. So far, those services have not been of the same standards as the peer-to-peer networks in respect of content, but EMI's new service may just be the answer to the music business' prayers.
