The House of Representatives has passed the Cyber Security Research and Development Act, which aims to providing funding incentive for universities and collges to develop computer security training curricula. All told, the bill provides $903 million in funding for such programs. A Wired.com article indicates that the bill is expected to pass the Senate with flying colors.
Meanwhile, the U.S. military is trying to bring a British hacker to justice for allegedly shutting down a U.S. Navy station. Perhaps the military could use a little bit of its own budget for cybersecurity.
