Reporters without Borders on Internet Freedom
posted by filter_editor on Thursday September 05, @02:30PM
from the It's-war-time.-Do-you-know-where-you-civil-liberties-are? dept.
Civil Liberties miladus writes "Reporters without Borders released today its report (PDF file) on the anniversary of September 11 and its impact on Internet freedom.
'The United States, Britain, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Denmark, the European Parliament, the Council of Europe and the G8 nations have all challenged cyber-freedoms over the past year. Yet these are countries with deep-rooted secular and democratic traditions whose citizens fought long and hard to win their right to free expression, the confidentiality of mail and the right of journalists not to reveal their sources.'"

I am glad you posted this rather vague and doubtful expression of outrage. Let me explain. Sept 11 has become an excuse to transform Our states into poloice states. I am Canadian..., BTW. It seems that there are those piggified politiciens everywhere, who would systematically Peel away our rights. Is this a red neck plot? I don't think so. It is pure lack of courage! The kind of courage it took in 1776.

Humanity has the stars in its future, and that future is too important to be lost under the burden of juvenile folly and ignorant superstition. - Isaac Asimov
