There really isn't much to add to Ernest Miller's commentary. Cornell, like any ISP, needs a policy for CYA reasons. The fact that their announcement is riddled with errors is indicative of the "just following orders" mentality that seems to permeate the crowd that support these laws.
Humanity has the stars in its future, and that future is too important to be
lost under the burden of juvenile folly and ignorant superstition.
