Oracle Says No To Open Source

Open Source Oracle claims to be committed to the open source movement and open standards. However, it appears that Oracle is not prepared to do the full monty. The Oracle database code will remain proprietary software. The motive for this move is a claim from Oracle CEO Larry Ellison that there will be difficulties in providing services if customers make alterations to the source code.
