2600 Magazine Drops DeCSS Appeal

Copyright 2600 Magazine has announced that it will not appeal the 2nd Circuit Court decision in which it lost in its effort to link to sites which hosted the DeCSS program. The program allows users to decrypt DVDs and provides access to their underlying video files for fair use and other purposes. EFF, which was representing 2600, simultaneously made an announcent about the dropping of the case. The Magazine cited very slim chances of winning a Supreme Court decision from the highly conservative court.
