Internet Piracy Prevalent, Says Software Trade Group

The Business Software Alliance, everyone's favorite anti-piracy group, has recently issued a study that it claims shows that piracy is widespread on the Internet, even though most people don't consider themselves pirates. The BSA's study, which reports that 81% of American Internet users have used at least some unpaid-for software, also reports that only 12% thought they had committed "software piracy." Newsbytes has coverage. Meanwhile, it appears many software makers are employing high tech measures in hunting down software pirates on the Internet. The BSA has also issued it's own press release.
