News A North Reading, Mass., teen who allegedly began harassing six girls in print and evolved to using IM as his harassment tool of choice has been charged with violating the girls' civil rights. Furthermore, in pre-trial probation, the teen, whose exact age was not disclosed, had to agreed not to use IM and other computing applications without supervision. Attorney General Tom Reilly, who filed the civil proceedings, is seeking an injunction against the teen's use of computer applications.

According to News.com, Reilly said: "These are serious allegations that involve the use of a computer to threaten and intimidate these students and one of their mothers by continually subjecting them to violent and sexually explicit messages that had them in fear for their safety. The technology may be new, but the outcome is the same."
