Gates Testimony Goes on Record

Antitrust Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates put his testimony concerning the proposed settlement with several states on record yesterday. As expected, Gates warned that the proposal would severly damage Microsoft's ability to compete, and would harm consumers by decreasing innovation. Gates also opined that Microsoft has done more for platform independence (i.e., interoperability) than any other company, which is news to the hundreds of company it has put out of business for trying to promote products or standards not blessed by Microsoft. Gates' testimony was posted by Microsoft. See also, New York Times Coverage, News.com coverage, and Wired Coverage.
