When you go to the former, you buy music, and if you don't like the cryptic licensing that applies to each song, and maybe you want to transfer to another computer or an MP3 player and it won't let you, tough! All you can do is "buy". Where as when you go into a store, pretty well everything that is sold is sold with a certain expectation to the consumer.
