After RIAA legal actions against private P2P user now itīs time for the software industry. A group of 38 Spanish software companies has announced they are going to take legal actions against 4.000 P2P users located in Spanish territory. The companies (the names are non-disclosed) accused these users of illegal distribution of software programs in Gnutella and Kazaa networks (you can read the English translation through Google: The main Spanish software companies denounce P2P users)."

"The action comes as a result of a study developed by the lawyer's office Landwell PriceWatherHouser Coopers. According to this study, developed in the first six moths of this year, there are 95.000 users of Gnutella and Kazaa networks located in Spain, they have distributed 25 millions copies of 4,713 different programs during this period of time (some of this details are not provided in the news). The group of companies have decided to take legal actions against the 4,000 main distributors in the networks. They have identified users just by their nick name so they ask for to the tribunal to allow them to use technology means to identified the IP addresses of this users.
I think this is the first time that P2P users are under thread of legal action because of software distribution in P2P networks, anyone knows about other previous actions of this kind?. One more thing, is there any way to mask completely your identity in a P2P network so to avoid this thread?."
