Anonymous Coward writes "The legality of linking and the way search engines work has been at the
center of legal debates around the world. Links & Law
reports that the
German Federal Court of Justice addressed the issue of deep links today. In
a long awaited decision the court held that the practice of deep linking by search
engines is not in violation of German copyright and competition law. The German Federal Court of Justice held that an online service which offers links to articles in a protected database is not in violation of copyright and competition law.
