CIA Opposes Total Awarness Project?
posted by mpawlo on Tuesday March 25, @08:57AM
from the conflict-of-interests dept.
Civil Liberties miladus writes "Gilman Louie, In-Q-Tel's CEO, warned against the dangers of collecting and archiving large amount of data and of making it available to government. 'I think it's very dangerous to give the government total access' he is quoted as saying in an article in the New York Times. He detailed some of the risks of 'data mining'  and profiling citizens. In-Q-Tel is a venture capital firm founded by the CIA to fund technology development for the intelligence community.
Does this mean that the CIA is against Total Awarness projects?"
