Finland's New Copyright Law
posted by md on Monday October 14, @03:52PM
from the dept.
Copyright miladus writes "Finland has modified its copyright laws. Under the new laws all pirate copies purchased by Finns abroad are illegal. Making copies for personal use is still legal and consumers are allowed to circumvent regional coding of current DVD players (by taking their players to repair shops that can remove the coding).

The new law "continues to provide journalists and photographers with the copyright to all their work, allowing them to decide how their work is distributed or published. The employer side attempted to gain the copyrights, claiming that copyrights have lost significance in the internet era."
