CNN.com runs a story about several team fan sites that have been threatened by Major League Baseball. While one site has shut down rather than put up with any restrictions by the baseball organization, others have been steadfast. MLB has said that their efforts are not directed willy nilly at any fan site, but rather are aimed at only those few sites that attempt to make a profit by using team logos and other intellectual property. Fans counter that their sites, while probably commercial, do not turn a profit and the MLB is overstepping its legal rights.
