Microsoft's Lobbyists in Action

Open Source It seems like the Microsoft lobby is getting kickstarted. According to News.com, Microsoft is seeking support through Initative for Software Choice to influence governments all over the world, but in particular in Europe, to not adopt public procurement policies where open code is mandated. Microsoft seems to be affected by the many endorsements of open code from European and South-American governments. In my opinion public money should not be used to support inefficient alternatives. However, this happens today when proprietary solutions often are mandated in the public procurement policies.
