Digital Entertainment Janis Ian has published an interesting essay on the Internet issues artists face. Janis Ian had some massive hits in 1975. With nine Grammy nominations and 17 albums to her credit, the artist conclude "Who gets hurt by free downloads? Save a handful of super-successes like Celine Dion, none of us. We only get helped."

Link provided by George Scriban on Jim Griffin and John Parres' Pho mailinglist, getting if from Cory Doctorow on BoingBoing.
